Naked Mind is a practice of meditation and breath. We take off our daily costume as a preparatory gesture for undressing the mind, revealing an inner world as infinite in potential as the world outside.
In the classical tradition, the physical practice is meant to cleanse and balance the body as preparation for the rigors of the mental practices. With increasing subtlety, the breath, senses, mind and intellect are brought into alignment, eventually leading to an all-encompassing state of being. Many say this a practice that will span lifetimes, but others argue that enlightenment is not a quest, rather it's available in every moment.
Your sights don't need to be set so high for you to enjoy the benefits of these practices. Deep states of relaxation are available to you now, as are direct experiences of subtle energies and profound feelings of connection with yourself and others. The breath is the key.
These practices are accessible for everyone. Once you've begun, you may want to explore what happens when you share these practices with someone else. In our experience, a deep level of connection is felt, which by-passes obstacles presented by cultural convention and the neurochemical responses to a stranger. Partnering techniques include synchronized breathing and eye-gazing. Shared practice can also increase the energetic experience, which we explore through various meditation postures.
